UPS Modified vs Pure

Go to solution Solved by it_dont_work,

If what your powering with the ups takes ac and converts to dc (example, a psu) it is fine. If what your using runs on a/c, such as something with an a/c motor or some tv's then you need pure sine. psu's smooth out the modified sine output of the ups's inverter

So in my saga to get a server up and running I just dropepd 2k on a ups and some 8tb drives. I have come home and set things up to find 2 pieces of info that....disturb me. 1. I have no clue how to make unRAID see my ups and be friends with it.... and 2. The ups is a modified sinewave 2000w unit...... I heard that pure sine wave was the the cat's milk, anyone care to weigh on this??

Cheers fellas ur help is really appreciated.
