Will overclock boost my fps?

I have an i7 6700k on 4ghz with a gpu evga 1080 the superclocked version and was wondering if should I try to overclock my cpu. And if so what would be the difference in the fps?

There may or may not be a difference and it would vary depending on the game and settings. 

If you got a 6700k, you should be oc'ing.

with that kind of cpu and gpu your best bet is to look at other stuff like memory speed, chipset, and certain settings effects in game that are bearly noticable that use an extra 20fps to render

edit: also bus speed and hard drive/ssd
