Hi everyone, I am currently building a gaming computer and was wanting some feedback and suggestions on my parts list and build ideas! Please leave your feedback and ideas for the build, so I have room to decide, before I buy all the parts! :D

Parts:
NZXT S340 (Black/Blue)
MSI Z170a Gaming Pro Carbon

Samsung 750 Evo (256GB)
EVGA 750w SUPERNOVA Semi-Modular PSU

EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 FTW 6GB
16GB Kingston HyperX Ram

NZXT Kraken x61 CPU Cooler
2TB Seagate Firecuda HDD
intel i7-6700k Processor

 

Build Ideas:

  • Put the Kraken x61 in a push configuration in the front of the case.
  • Overclock my CPU to 4.8 GHz

Looks all good! Do you have a budget so I can make recommendations? Also, what's the purpose of this computer? Workstation or gaming? That way we can make suggestions.

Gaming is my main purpose and $1,200 or less.

I would go with the 6600k then, because few games use hyper-threading. The only reason you would need a 6700k is I'd you were doing heavy video editing or something. I would opt for a GTX 1070 , as its pretty good for the price and is SLI compatible. What are you playing to need a X61? There are some really good air coolers out there that will probably for your needs.

I am primarily streaming, gaming, and editing in heavy load applications though.

I guess you could go with the 6700k then. I would probably go for a better GPU and cut on the cooler. I don't think you'll be needing an X61.
