Question about secondary router

I recently finished setting up my own computer and have noticed that my download rate is pretty slow (usually around 1 MegaByte/s) which i assumed was because i am using a small USB to wifi adapter rather that hooking up to my router with an ethernet cable. I was wondering how i would be able to set up a second router directly to my computer if i bought one, thanks!

You would have to set the secondary router to be a repeater. The issue is that this will cause some delay in traffic. Not a big deal for browsing and movies; however, if you're gaming you might not be happy.

What is the make andndlonelways model of your current router? What speeds do you get when hooked with wire? And is your PC a desktop or laptop?

It might be cheaper and more feasible to purchase a WiFi card and install that I stead of getting another router. Get something with A/C compatability and you'll be good.

Haha. I apologise for assuming his current router is AC; however, purchasing an AC card gives you room to grow if he gets a new router in the future. It'll keep him up to date.

Are you talking about using the second router as a wireless bridge? If so, Not all routers support that function. Ive only used the Function in routers that support DDWRT. If you can run a cable directly from Computer to router, then look at powerline or Moca options.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
