That depends on how much you have/want to spend on a gpu.

For 1080p a rx 480 will max out the settings.

get both, use AMD for rendering, nvidia for physx :P.

Joking aside it depends on the game you will play, your budget and the features you want. If you plan to use it for openCL AMD is a head in that as nvidia refuses to support beyond version 1.1

Physx won't work with amd and nvidia.

What's the PSU? Which company/MHz is the RAM? Getting the 1070 depends on what you'll use it for.

Ram is ram, really only capacity matters unless you are doing extremely cpu bound tasks.

A rx 480 should be fine, if it isn't inthe future you could always crossfire them if your motherboard supports it.

actually it does if you use the hackish way. But its more of a joke suggestion as i've had all 3 GPUs in my system before (intel, amd and nvidia) and i used the best each of them offered.

Comes with the use or personal preferences. I like Nvidia better, but that's just me. AMD is better for Async computing, bitcoin mining, etc etc. There are some games that run better with Nvidia an others that run better with AMD, just do a little research on the games you want to play or applications you want to use it for. and both should provide decent performance.
