Since its related to graphics card drivers rather than specific  software, its goign in Graphics cards sub. I use Freemake to convert things from various format to suit itunes and my ipad. seems that my graphics card isnt cuda enabled according to the software. since its a GTX1080 im fairly sure it has cuda cores, at least 5 of them... so is this a driver error, software error or hardware limitation because i dont have a quadro and im misinterpreting?

Alternative suggestions for software would be ok too i guess, it doesnt exactly take forever as it is but faster is always nicer.

Thanks

The program needs to support the graphics card to use it for rendering.

It's not a driver error and it's up to Freemake to add in support for using the 1080 for rendering.

I'm new here and don't want to contradict the mod, but unfortunately in this case, he/she would usually be correct, but on this he/she is partly right, partly wrong. It appears Freemake does support CUDA, but is having issues with the current driver. Quote from Freemake website:

"The matter is caused by the latest Nvidia drivers that are not supported by Freemake. If you want, you may downgrade the drivers to version 337.88 or earlier to enable CUDA support"

Oh & O/P, your 1080 has 2,560 CUDA cores, not 5.
