Time to replace my AIO?

Hey guys

I've had my Corsair H55 for a couple of years now.

It idles my OC'd FX 8320 at about 40c and goes to about 60c when running Cinnebench.

I've set the fan curve on my radiator fans to be silent at idle temps but to ramp up really aggresively after going above 50c.

All temps are from the motherboard sensor, not the sensor on the CPU dye.

Is it time to get a new AIO?

Considering the FX chips are hot, 60C isn't bad. I guess it's up to you whether you want to spend the cash or not. Just make sure your case is compatible with what you want.

I was wondering because idle temps have gone up since the H55 was new. I've heard coolant and pumps can degrade over a year or two.

I've heard that as well. My brother has a H80 and has been using it for 6 years now and it's been fine. I have been considering a AIO liquid cooler to replace my NH-U14S. Otherwise I can't say whether to do it or not, it's kinda a your call situation. If you want to upgrade then go for it if not then just keep using it.

Yeah, since my case can fit 240 rads I might get one. I want lower idle temps too, since my room is always 20c or under.

I wish I would have such temps, my FX 8320 is on ~35°C in Idle and ~65°C on Load, and that with an H100i with 4 damn loud fans (Corsair SP 120 Performance Edition) :D But it's still up to you to buy a new one or not, if I was you I would save the money :)

I have the same fans in push/pull, if you set them to go at about 40% at idle temps you can pretty much get them to be silent.

I'd recommend buying a 240/280 rad and using your old H55 with a Kraken G10 on your GPU. The G10 is compatible with the H55 and R9 270X.

That's an interesting solution.. I might do that indeed.

Your temps are fine--I wouldn't worry about it.
