Go to solution Solved by ARikozuM,

I use Kaspersky but you can use Malwarebytes.

Hi, so basically there has been fraudulent activity on my bank account, it's sorted for now but I don't want it to happen again. The guy at the bank said they got my card details from either a skimmer or intercepted Internet traffic when I've used my card online.

At the moment I use a free AnitI virus/ mal ware program and no VPN.

To stop this happening again, if they got it from the Internet, should I use a VPN when using my card online or get a good paid security program or both.

Thanks in advance!

Was it on your home network? What operating system are you using?

You could use a VPN, there are free ones out there. However, no one should really have to use a VPN - although they are good. They are not necessary.

I use no anti-virus or protection. I am just cautious about what I go on.

Two TOP free antiviruses : Avira, Panda

OK I've got kaspersky but will this help stop my bank details from being stolen online, is there extra encryption or somthing when I make a payment using my bank card online?

I know it's probably a dumb question I just don't want anyone else getting my bank details.

Thanks

If you activate Safe Money, it'll open a new webpage with additional encryption. It'll help on those ventures on-line... not so much at your local grocery.
