Question about the current state NAS setup.

Currently, im running my nas(FREENAS) off AM3+ system, specs below. 

 

 

FX6300

8GB ECC MEMORY

M5A78L-M LX PLUS

OVERKILL 700WATT BROZNE PSU

DARKROCK COOLER

 

I was hoping to upgrade my above built to like intel based or amd based when zen comes out that is lower powered. I am hoping to sell the above build or individual parts plus some extra money ~150AUD dollars from old parts that I am selling. Do you guys think it possible to do build with 450 AUD without the case and drives or should i look for lower powered cpu?

for a NAS, I think a FX6300 is fine. If anything you'd want to upgrade to a lower powered CPU like a xeon.

FX6300 is overkill for a NAS, are you using your NAS as a server or just a NAS?
