HELP CHOOSING GPU

The build has 8gb of ddr3 ram and an amd athlon x4 860k

Theyr gonna perform quite similar to each other, but the 460 is usually less expensive and power efficiency may be almost equal.

460 is 8% slower than a 950 in DX11 and 20% faster in DX12

Currently - 460 is the best low-power GPU. At less than 75W it beats out the 950 which needs 75-90W. 750 Ti is just a memory of a time long past. I should know, my Y50 has a 860M (750 Ti rebrand)

Aint that like 40-50$ more over the 460? Its only a 20-30$ from the 480.

I would go with the RX 460 and the reasons are:

-it is newer

-needs less energy 

-in some cases less expensive

-gaming should be a bit faster at 1080p

-better display connectivity

 

This is only a personal opinion and in some cases the 750ti may be better but i would still chose the rx 460 because i would use it for multimedia and not gaming. I hope it helped you a bit in choosing the card.

It's actually a LOT better at 1080p - as you can see from Guru3D - it's beating the 950.

I would recommend the AMD graphic card because of DX12/Vulkan/Mantle,over-enginnered to be more future proof than their counterparts and power effieciency.
