PC won't post after adding more RAM

Go to solution Solved by TubsAlwaysWins,

Got it. System just freaks out way to much these days

So my PC has RAM issues (Specifically windows taking the RAM. gives me like 2.5Gb of usable ram). I had another stick of some dell memory laying around that I wanted to put it. So i put it in. (Dell kit is 1600Mhz, my kit is 2133 Mhz. So I went into my BIOS and changes my 2133mhz kit to 1600mhz. Then I shut off my computer. I added the stick to the 3rd slot (Other to are in slots 2 & 4, leaving slot 1 empty. Now PC won't even post. All the lights turn on and stuff, just no display output. All specs are in my signature, but basics are a AMD FX 8320 @ 4.0Ghz, G-Skill Ares 2133Mhz RAM, MSI 970 Gaming Motherboard, MSI R9 270X HAWK, EVGA SuperNova NEX650G. Ive had issues in the past where my PSU (Same EVGA model) killed my mobo and then died. (So im on a brand new PSU from EVGA RMA and a used MSI motherboard from RMA). The MOBO has been acting up recently (Either my cases USB 3.0 ports are dead or my MOBO's 3.0 header is dead.) Any thoughts?

First time it didn't work I pulled out all the RAM and did 1 stick at a time, as well as a clear CMOS

I really need a new system lol. This one has been nothing but trouble

If your system will post without that 3rd stick in there, then the sticks are not compatible. Simple as that...

My thoughts exactly. If you can test your CPU somewhere then you can sell it if it's still working fine to sell it.

Yes I get that the issue is when I remove the stck it still won't post. I can have 1 stick in there with no post. I can have 2 sticks in it with no post. That is the issue

Theres some people at my school I might try selling to. The issue is I need my GPU since the 6800K doesn't have onboard graphics. Another issue is it was my first custom system so everything in it (well really only the CPU since that was a gift) has a special place in my heart. But if I can get like $600 out of it then no problem selling it. Issue is I need it working to sell it

Why not? I wanted to get one sometime. Is there anything I should be disliking about them too? :P

No. I just don't like the aesthetics. Honestly for what I use I should probably be using a 6700K and a Z170 board. I just like enthusiast stuff. I hear most of the boards are great though. I was actually going to get the ASUS Sabertooth one at one point but then Broadwell-E launched and I like wrecking my friends in benchmarks
