If you buy a 4x8GB kit. and you use 2 of the 4 (8GB) sticks in dual channel config. Will it work?

then you get to keep the other 2 8gb sticks to put it in another computer

thank you for answering my question,

Now I have a second question:

Is 1 4x8 GB kit is less expensive then 2 2x8GB kit?
