So I'm looking at getting a good airsoft gun. I know polarstar is top of the food chain atm but I'm not sure what they do and what difference between models is.

1. What is the difference between the Polarstar V2 Fusion Engine and the Polarstar V2 Jack?

2. Which option makes it have a faster fire rate for semi-auto?

3. Does adding the Polarstar V2 Jack only make the gun gas and nothing else?

4. What is the Electric motor equivalent to a Polarstar?

5. Any brand recommendations?

My budget is around $600 and it is for a college team.

A polarstar is a HPA gun, as in high powered air

that means running a tank and like to your gun or getting the stock replaced with an air tank - think paintball but you shoot bbs

an AEG is an all electric gun

personally I'm happy with AEGs, my main rifle at the moment is a G&G SRL 9", upgraded with 16:1 gears, madbull black Python 6.03mm barrel, SHS steel teeth piston and aluminium piston head. The gun is running on an 11.1 lipo and already has an electronic trigger unit and mosfet

then gun is bang on 350fps (site limit for full auto) shoots around 23 rounds per second, has very snappy semi auto, and no messing with air tanks or lines, just charge a better and I'm sorted

to not get killed depends on your laws, I think US and Canada etc must be orange tipped, and keep it in a rifle bag or case when travelling

The V2 is just a better system

a lot of the performance depends on the air pressure

polarstar is not gas it's air, gas would be a propane Gbbr

there is no equivalent

also there is a new magnetic rifle coming out from BO

brands

TM, G&G, G&P, VFC, King Arms,

You said there is no equivalent. Your guns is has upgraded parts, can I get similar performance to a polarstar by upgrading the motor/ gearbox?

i mean equivelent in that its a completely different system, electric car vs petrol car etc

the polarstar could be argued to be the ultimate in performance, but drawbacks are having to carry air, having to run hoses, getting the tank refilled, getting the tank serviced, worrying about PSI and other shit etc

AEGs are versatile and you can make them do what you want but you have to invest into them

well my G&G was around £250 and about £100 ish of upgrades £80 of mags, £60 in batteries etc and a nice charger £35

i can spam semi as fast as my finger can move

again, on level with a polarstar.. that depends, its a unique system with its own pros and cons and its own upgrades needed etc and prices

see thats what I mean, your gun was only upgraded for $200 while buying a polarstar starts at $350. Once again, its for a college team and it needs to be good and reliable.

care to elaborate or?

on why I dont like them? the hassle of the tanks, and losing the realism when you have lines running out of the gun, or having a tank stock etc

but thats something to decide yourself :)
