kali linux isnt a good distro for beginners, ubuntu with gnome gui is what kali is based on. if you want to learn linux i would advice on starting there. but that all depends on what you want to learn, do you want to learn hacking or linux? because kali is a hacking platform, if you want to learn that than you should read the kali documentation and watch some youtube tutorials. the easiest way to learn stuff like that is to just try to hack YOUR(so only ones you have the permission to hack for) router or machine on the network. you can try messing around with nmap and metasploit and routerpwn.com (this just injects scripts into the browser session to hijack the router, just search for your router model and see if there are any exploits for it).

I agree with @tlink . Even if you want to learn pentesting Kali is not the good platform to start because it has config and software modified to suit a pentester who knows its way around the system. So to use kali in the first place you have to know how to use linux. Starting with a friendlier distribution and learning your way with the OS its the first thing you need to do. And when you become good enough you technically don't even need kali to do pentesting you can use ubuntu or something, its just that kali has a lot of stuff preconfigured so you don't have to spend a day setting it up

P.s. Also for resources on learning linux http://www.ee.surrey.ac.uk/Teaching/Unix/ I found this thing online I dont know how good it is. But my main suggestion would be a book.

main(){
  extrn a,b,c;
  putchar(a); putchar(b); putchar(c); putchar('!*n');
  }

a 'hell';
b 'o, w';
c 'orld';
