I just plugged my nexus 5x to internet through wired connection using a usb-c to usb-a adapter and a usb-a to ethernet. And it just works, im also getting a thing up in the right corner looks like this: <•••> .I have never seen anyone talking about this, so i thought it might be something new in android n.

The s7 has a micro sub to usb femal adaper. You could then plug in a sub to Ethernet. It worked for me.

oh well that is actually here from android m, should have done more research...
