SOLVED/ I NEED HELP BUILDING MY COMPUTER

Ok so I was building a new computer for my birthday and had all my parts but had to wait about 3 weeks just to get my motherboard.

I was so excited because this was going to be a MAJOR upgrade from the current laptop that im using (1.9 ghz quad core AMD Radeon HD 7630g 4gb 800 mhz)

So i checked and everything was compatible together so i start building it had a few problems on the way and it was done.

I boot it up and it says that its installing firmware on the motherboard so i wait. During the middle of the firmware installation it randomly shuts down.

I boot it back up and i get no display. I even left it on for 2 hours and got nothing. I undid everything and rebuilt it and nothing.

So i checked to see if the ram was the problem, nope. Check CPU, nope. Check PSU, nope. Checked GPU, nope.  So i'm resorting to this forum.

I'm just guessing that my mobo did a bad firmware installation so it's kinda messed up. Do i have to send it back and get another one?

I really need help because this would greatly increase my performance and i wont get anymore FPS drops in Sony Vegas 13 if i use s_shake.

 

Mind that i am on quite a low budget so don't judge how bad the build is.

 

Mobo: Biostar Hi-Fi a70u3p 

CPU: AMD Athlon x4 845

PSU: EVGA 500w PSU 80+

GPU: AMD Radeon R7 240 2GB  OC Edition GigaByte

CPU Cooler: CoolerMaster Hyper T2

RAM: Mushkin DDR3 1600 MHZ 4GBx2

 

If anyone could help it would be awesome.

contact your reseller about that mobo and send it back and you should get a new one aslong as you didn't buy it in second hand

put out the CMOS battery of the Mainboard put out the power cable then press the start button. Now all power is out. put it in again and then try a normal start.

First of all, you should have gone for a different manufacturer, like Asus, Gigabyte, MSi, etc. I also bought a brand new mo-bo once and it didn't even start, but after sending it back and receiving a new one (same model ofc) everything was just fine. Maybe you were unlucky to get a bad product. But I strongly recommend to return this one and get something like an ASUS A88XM-A; MSI A68HM-P33 V2; ASROCK FM2A88M-HD+ R3.0. :-)

this sounds like the mobo is bricked aka dead

 

return to the shop and tell them the mobo is Dead on Arrival

 

ask for a different brand because Biostar is famous for shitty boards

 

so that is why i give it the nickname Biostar = Bullshit

try bios reset . if it does not work get it replaced it is probably a faulty motherboard .

You do realize r7 240 is an extremely weak GPU? Are you aware of how it performs?

Yes i am aware i have used it before but mind that i said that i was on a extremely low budget. And you might be like "Oh well this one over here at nearly the same price but WAAY better" but at the time i bought this card way before i got the rest of the parts and i didnt need to spend any extra cash for a new graphics card so i just went with it.

Was there any luck on RMA of the board?

Sent it back and they confirmed it was defective. So im buying me a different mobo that is compatible with my CPU and RAM.

That one should have been, yet it could have been on the shelf for a very long time and had a outdated BIOS...
