We've got a 2tb time capsule to back up all of our apple computer files to.

It works on the 2009 iMac we have and a 2011 macbook pro (I think). It doesn't back up to my 2012 macbook pro though.

It just says...

I click back up now, it loads...

and then goes back to waiting to complete first backup.

Latest os 10.11.6

It detects the time capsule.

backing up via wifi

not the latest time capsule (flat old one)

even when I go onto the wifi that the t.c makes (I think it does), it still doesn't work.

Any help is appreciated.

Try Upgrade capsule firmware/bios/OS and then should it work. Some new hardware doesn't work very clean with some old stuff. Software difference must be causing some Issue. There will be a patch for it.

Will try that. Thanks.

It used to work though :(

Hi there :)

Try to shut all devices down including the capsule. Then try running your computers one by one and see if it will work. I have encountered this error when multiple devices (4 in my case) need to back up their data to the capsule and it simply gets stuck. Contacting the manufacturer is also an option here.

Don't exclude HDD issues in the capsule. Treat this with caution.

There are three devices to my knowledge that are or should be backing up.

Thanks for the advice.

Try to disable all backups and remove this device from the backup list and then add it again and leave it until it completes the first backup. Do this on all devices without doing anything on them while it backs them up. Post back with some progress.
