Hi guys,

I'm not english so excuse my bad way to put words in place :P

All right, I still dunno where to put this topic, but i think this is the right place, if it isn't I'll move it because I like too.

Okay, puns aside, I'm trying to get a new pc case but everything I see on the market is not what I want, so I said to myself, why don't build it myself, plus i have a bunch of wood scraps which would be great for it.

I did a little bit of search and I end up with an idea, think I'll got with aluminium too. I'll probably do something in the style of inwin's open air case. but i want to expose the components more and shape it to a wing form.

Plus, I want to go with water cooling but I have no idea of what to pick for the fluid to match an OC Formula from Asrock.

Wait a bit for a design preview, i'll do it tomorrow, cause now it's a bit late for me ^^.

Thanks for the look, see you arround.

This is something i have wanted to do for a long time. So i am very interested in seeing this!

Ive wanted to design a case that could be cut and assembled out of aluminum panels. So i could send the design to get laser cut out of flat sheets. Milling is significantly more expensive.

ho ok i'll definitly go check this out seems intresting, do you have any idea to how much it costs for something like 1m² x 20 pieces?

It depends where you are as fabrication cost can vary widely, but in general if you provide them CAD drawings they can cut out the sheets you will need which can greatly reduce the cost. If you are doing a complex bend or design it may be worth the cost to get them to do that for you as it can be quite difficult to bend thick aluminum.

Do you know a relatively easy Cad software i can start with(free alternative?)? I've already mest around SW but i can't download it at my college because of some restrictions, and as soon as I am not on my main pc, I can't get my hands on it.

For modeling solidworks would be one of the best options, some others are Solid Edge or Fusion 360 but if your just getting something cut out of a sheet and bending it you can even use CAD or Adobe illustrator to create a cut/tool path using the line tool.
