Internet issues

hey i dont know where to start 

 

about a month ago we started have issues wit hour internet where we were getting speeds as low as 0.17mbps which resulted in getting a new modem now we getting issues where we are constantly getting disconnected from our internet and your connection is not private and we are getting nowhere with our ISP (spark New Zealand)  any advice would be helpful.

 

our normal speeds are Download 6.5mbps

                                      upload 0.50mbps

Is this a wired or wireless connection, and is the new network device a modem/router combo unit, just a modem or just a router (there's a difference, and it makes a big impact on how any of us can respond)?

sorry network related stuff is not something i know much about all i can tell ya is it is can be used for wired and wireless the issues we have is on both wired and wireless connections if this extra info don't help i am sorry

How are you connected to the internet and does it only happen on that one device? ( the not secure and being disconnected ) we need a bit more information, are you on Wifi? or directly connected to the router/modem?

What type of internet do you have? Coax? Dsl? Fiber? How does the computer you are having issues on connect to the router/gateway?

it is all the pc's we have connected to the internet most are on wifi and 1 is connected directly to the modem/router we are on ADSL (wish i had access to fiber)
