Windows reinstallalation on second drive

Hey guys, so my parents just got a new SSD to put into their pc. At the moment they have an ancient and slow HDD drive. Is there any way to simply reinstal windows on this second drive by resetting your pc and choosing to install on the second drive?

I know that i could do this with a disc or a usb, but would it be possible to just do it via windows, since I do not own a second windows key.

Thanks in advance.

If I understand you correctly, you want to clean install windows on the ssd and use the hdd for extra storage? If this is so, you can just do a clean install and use the windows key you already have. If you do this, I recommend disconnecting the HDD while installing the OS on the SSD. If not, it will create a boot partition on the hdd and you wont be able to boot without it connected. At least that's what happened with me.

What version of windows do you have? 10, 8, 7??

Windows 8, 8.1, and 10 prebuilt systems usually have the windows key in the bios.

A nice program to see your product key just in case is Nirsoft's ProduKey. Use it to find your key and then clean install.
