Hi so I am planning on buying the new Razer Stealth with 128gb of storage. Is there a way in which I can buy an internal ssd like a samsung evo, and use it as a portable drive that I can take with me places? If so, where can I buy a cable to transfer between the SSD interface to usb type c or 3.0. And can anyone recommend me any enclosures to keep my SSD in?

Hi there :)

Any particular reason why you'd like a SSD as an external drive rather than a regular External HDD (portable or desktop)? For most usage types a regular external HDD like the WD My Passport should do the job just fine.

To answer your question, pretty much any enclosure you find out there should do the job as SSDs can be powered from the USB port and don't need external power.

You can also use a simple SATA to USB cable in order to transfer data to an external SSD. :)

I upgraded my laptop's Intel 120gb ssd to an 512 GB ssd a while back.

I bought an external case to store the 120gb drive that I took out (use it for my steam library now ?)

I use this one from Anker, it's a pretty good brand.
