This is gonna sound very newbie but how do you downgrade video quality? Is it a setting in windows or is it in certain games?

In games, it's usually in setting - Graphic/video setting. Then there is something like 1920x1080 (1080p) 1600x900 (900p) and 1280x720 (720p)

On windows, it's in display settings.

I know what your thinking, "yuck why do you want a 720p display, that's so 2 years ago". Yes I understand. But im building a budget pc, and to get the most frames out of my games I was going to downgrade to 720p. Now don't get me wrong, if you show me a 1080p display in front of a 720p display, I'll know the difference. And yes I prefer a 1080p display over a 720p display. But to be honest I don't care, they both look great but there very compareable in my opinion. So to help my budget build I'm trying to get a 720p hd moniter. I know there's a lot of used one's but I prefer new, but I will get a used if I absolutely have too. So my question is, is there still distributors of 720p displays and if so where do I get them and how much do they cost.

Greatly appreciated :)

I'd just get a 1080p monitor and run games at 720p, it will save you money down the line if you upgrade your GPU. The price difference is pretty minimal.

I don't think that there is still manufacturers who are still making consumer grade 720p monitors. You may look for refurbished units, which are rare, or grab a used one.

I can get a new 1080p for around 120 CAD or a used one around half of the price here in Canada. (90 and 45 USD respectively).

My opinion? Get a used 1080p. Game on 720. browse on 1080.

This is gonna sound very newbie but how do you downgrade video quality? Is it a setting in windows or is it in certain games?
