So I've finally finished putting together the first phase of my new workstation project.

This is built for photo/video editing (Photoshop / Pinnacle Studio), orthomosaic and 3d survey rendering (Pix4D).

The parts list buildup is here: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/CKCfvV

It's up and running a fresh install...but I have couple issues if you might be able to shed some light, it would be appreciated!

1) BIOS does not see the M.2 256gig Samsung drive.  However, the Device Manager in Win10 does see it...even says the drivers are up to date.  But it will not show as a viable drive for Windows to install on or for utilization.  Still have yet to go through Disk Manager as perhaps it needs to be formatted?  I'm not familiar with Win10...so any tips would be appreciated.

2) BIOS sees both Samsung 850 EVO's...Device Manager sees both...Even Samsung Magician sees both and saw that ones of them needed a firmware update.  But Win10 only shows one of them.  Really  need this other drive to show up as it has the bulk of my backed up software install files...

I have additional plans for the system...including liquid cooling and an additional GTX1080 which Pix4D will utilize for faster renderings.  Also a newer monitor with a G-Sync IPS panel will be had as well...eventually.

Thoughts and Comments would be greatly appreciated...

Cheers!

...pictures won't upload from my work PC...will have to wait on that...

The only thing I could think of other than that the M.2 drive needs formatted is that the BIOS needs updated to perhaps see the drives. Sometimes boards dont ship with the most up to date BIOS and there might of been an issue with the M.2 slots. Other than that I can not think of anything else especially if they show up in device manager.

Such was the case with this board.  I actually had to use my old 5820k to get it to post...AND I had to scrounge up a DVI/HDMI converter just so I could get a display of the BIOS (only DisplayPort and HMDI on my monitor).  Thankfully I had the presence of mind to download all the BIOS drivers for the board prior to the build...so I was able to update right to N.8 and have the 6850k get recognized without issue.

It just really doesn't want to see the M.2.

Granted...it doesn't see the PCIe (Intel 750) either...but still let me install Windows on it.../shrugs...

For the two 850's , I think its odd that only one of them needed a firmware update.

You could try to install a Linux, see if it can see all the drives/use them. Might at least give you a clue if the issue is Windows or Bios/Hardware

Linux would be a good test for sure...but I think I'll get it sorted through Windows when I have more time to play.  I work out of town 4 days a week...so time is at a premium for me right now.
