If you just hook up two kbds and mice, you're still going to have one pointer only and what you type is going to end up in the only text box highlighted. My best suggestion would be to have two discrete PCs, but if it's inapplicable to you, (as ScratchCat said)

Look up Linus' 2Gamers 1Cpu.

He uses unraid.

With unraid tho, you're gonna need two GPUs and the CPU power and RAM are going to split in half.

DESKTOP PC - CPU-Z VALIDi5 4690K @ 4.70 GHz | 47 X 100.2 MHz | ASUS Z97 Pro Gamer | Enermax Liqmax II 240mm | EVGA GTX 1070Ti OC'd

anyone else got any other suggestion. there go to be easier way

"At the same time" is your real issue.   If you mean "one at a time" with different (private even) setups, that is certainly doable ... but both "at the same time" needs two different PC instances (done with virtualisation software like unraid).

A simple solution - build another computer. :)

(You said "simple", not "cheap")

It's most likely that one of you can get by with a lot less computer, such as an i5-6500 with 8Gigs of RAM and an RX 470 or GTX-1060. Except for "render times" you'll never notice much difference between them.

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.

i5-6600, 16Gigs, ITX Corsair 250D, R9 390, 120Gig M.2 boot, 500Gig SATA SSD, no HDD

Well obviously BOTH of them can get by with HALF the computer they currently have ...

So maybe sell it and buy two at half the price?
