It is extremly ridiculous... But we can't do anything about it.

You get what you pay for because Apple's products tend to last longer (or at least that's the perception) and Apple has great customer support. Tell me, where else can you find physical customer support from any other system builder? The closest thing PCs have is Geek Squad and Geek Squad is a complete joke. Most computer users don't want to do any troubleshooting and fixing themselves and having this option is something they'll pay for.

bullcrap. A PC will last longer, seeing as how you can UPGRADE IT. A mac will slowly get slower and eventually be unusable. In a PC, you can just swap out a component and it will last you three more years.

in response to your earlier comment, you can diagnose a PC problem very easily without a big repair company. just put it in safe mode, enter the bios and check the health of everything. If a component is giving you trouble, replace it
