Feedback on first PC

Hey guys, I'm going to do my first PC build in November and I was wondering if I could have some feedback on my component choice and how I may improve on it. I have around a 1000(ish) CAD budget so I want to know if I'm getting the best performance for my money. I'm going to do 1080p/1440p gaming and video editing.

a cheeper mobo and better psu

Yeah, I definitely need a wifi card, I'm so faraway from my router I barely get 1 mb/s out of my 30 mb/s internet.

I'm not going to be using my SSD for much, I just want fast boot times on my OS and a few other things

eh my experience with AMD was always high power draw. Used to use a 5850 also hearing quite a bit of horror stories on high power draws on the r9 200 series. Not a fanboy just experience. Just haven't really heard a lot of good stories from fellow builders from recent AMD cards.

that is a very power hungry card but this is not
