Need Help Choosing New Routers!

Go to solution Solved by Crimluck,

Hi Anakin!

Anyone of those three will do JUST FINE. Each one of them are from known/reliable brands. There will be no limitation from the side of the router due to the max download speeds of your connection.

Differences:

Asus: 2.4GHz only, two 5dB antennae for a bit better coverage, supports IPv6, can be also used as an range extender afterwards/when you get a better router, if I was you I would get Asus RT-N18U instead

Linksys: Dual band connection (you also need devices that support 5GHz range), 600Mbps theoretical throughput (actually means nothing, would need the BEST conditions), it's got an APP through which you can control your router, nothing about IPv6

Netgear: 2.4GHz only, also has an APP through which you can control you router, nothing about IPv6

Final vote for Asus RT-N18U and done.

Also if I may ask, which city in which country are you getting FIBER OPTIC connection yet only such low download speed?

Hi just signed up to ask this question but I need help comparing these three routers for my new connection i'm getting soon. My internet is currently garbage at 4mbps down and 0.30mbps up, and im getting a new fiber optic connection of 50mbps download and the recommended routers are confusing to me stats wise. So could some one help tell me the best  router for 50mbps download and wireless use only with multiple people, even two xboxes. The three recommended  routers are these:

  • Asus RT-N12D1
  • Linksys EA2700 N600
  • Netgear N300

Thanks so much if you take the time to compare these for me, i don't really know what any of the stats mean!

Thanks for everything and i live in Clarksville, TN in the United States. And 50 download is pretty fast and cheap compared to the other services around here, with no data cap too. The company im getting it from is here: https://cdelightband.com/packages-and-pricing/ im getting a the $106/ month tv/internet bundle. Its a pretty good against what im getting now which is 4mbps internet and Tv for like $200 a month.
