Good Hobby Telescope?

Yes, I know, I should put this in the "Off Topic" subforum but then it will not go in the "Recent Topics" thingy and it is kinda tech related. I have been looking at Nasa's picture of the day for a few hours and my birthday is coming up soon so I want to do my own "stargazing" but I don't have a telescope. Can someone recommend me one that is at a max of $70 USD? I have almost no knowledge of telescopes so if you have any questions feel free to ask.
