Bottle necking? on BF4

i got a mad FX-8350, GTX 970 G1 and set all settings to medium to high and pulling about 30ish FPS. Is it bottle necking and if so how to i fix it?

MOBO: MSI 970 

Ram: Hyper fury x (1866) 2x 4GB

Power supply: Silver stone Strider pulse (700 W)

CPU cooler: corisr H100i gtx

what resolution and resolution scale?

No, 42% its for bf1 beta don't spread misinformation. 100 its the native resolution in bf4. I would advise everything on low except for texture quality, texture filtering(high or ultra) and mesh (high), you could get the scailing to 120% and don't use AA

consider googling bf4 fps tips, like unparking cores, turning off motion blur, etc

How about you upgrade?

FX is Phenom II with bad cores and higher overclock ability. Not good.

Pentium IV @ 4.4ghz , 8GB DDR2, R9 380 4GB, 2560x1440p monitor.

Well, amd processors bottlenecks nearly everything. Just note that when you upgrade from 970, that AMD CPU will make your frames cry(even though it already does for some degree).

Usually when you see something like a clean 30fps it's due to your v-sync settings or a framerate limiter (either in-game or driver setting). Does the fps go way up when you turn off v-sync? If it does but you want to keep using v-sync try changing to adaptive v-sync (control panel setting). Also, make sure you're using single buffered not dual buffered.

Having issues with a Corsair AIO? Possible fix here:

Are you getting weird fan behavior, speed fluctuations, and/or other issues with Link?

Are you running AIDA64, HWinfo, CAM, or HWmonitor? (ASUS suite & other monitoring software often have the same issue.)

Corsair Link has problems with some monitoring software so you may have to change some settings to get them to work smoothly.

-For AIDA64: First make sure you have the newest update installed, then, go to Preferences>Stability and make sure the "Corsair Link sensor support" box is checked and make sure the "Asetek LC sensor support" box is UNchecked.

-For HWinfo: manually disable all monitoring of the AIO sensors/components.

-For others: Disable any monitoring of Corsair AIO sensors.

That should fix the fan issue for some Corsair AIOs (H80i GT/v2, H110i GTX/H115i, H100i GTX and others made by Asetek). The problem is bad coding in Link that fights for AIO control with other programs. You can test if this worked by setting the fan speed in Link to 100%, if it doesn't fluctuate you are set and can change the curve to whatever. If that doesn't work or you're still having other issues then you probably still have a monitoring software interfering with the AIO/Link communications, find what it is and disable it.

mmm..No,Crossfire 7950 boosts and have yet to bottleneck my 1100T or my FX 8350.

They are not as bad as some would make them out to be,however if I was doing a new build now,of course I would have to go with Intel,But I have yet to have any issues with my AMD CPU's so far,Crossfire has also been great,especially in the BF titles which gives almost 100% scaling.

But I am most likely at the top of what I would run (GPU)with my CPU's.

A GTX 970 at ultra 1080P (no aa) can do above 100fps easy. That CPU is probably bottlenecking.

LOL@cpu bottlenecking, no matter how bad FX IPC is it won't bottleneck the card at 30FPS.

Try nuke the driver with DDU and reinstall it back.

Intel cpu's gives both higher and more stable fps. Amd is simply not  as powerful as the Intel cpus. Buying a gaming rig with an amd cpu today, is pure nonsense.

 

For a 970, the difference is not Night and day, but its still some fps lost due to the cpu. 

When upgrading, an amd cpu will start to struggle, and a Intel cpu will laugh at it.
