Crysis 1 won't launch

I am running windows 7 64 bit and every time I launch crysis through steam the screen goes black for a second and then say crysis has stopped working. I have tried uninstalling it, deleting all entries of it in the registry, running it in every compatibility mode I can, deleting all game saves and profiles, and I have tried replacing bin32 with bin64. I have also tried re-installing both vc-redist, and DX from within the game folder. None of it has worked. Any suggestions?

I had to replace bin32 with bin64. But that hasn't worked for you.

Did you install it from steam? When I did, I only had the bin 32 version. I had to download the bin 64 from the internet. I found the link in a steam thread.

did you try to update gpu drivers? just guessing..  it would probably be the first thing I'd try..

This might be a long shot but have you tried it with origin installed / logged in?

Would be hilarious if that was the issue

I usually don't bump old topics, but I thought it'd be better than posting my own with the exact same problem. Maybe? I can't start the original Crysis on Origin. I have Windows 8.1, and it always crashes at start up before any credits or title screen.
