What CPU should I get

Hey guys, I am searching for a new CPU and just don't know which one I should pick.

I want to spend about 300 to 350 for the CPU and it doesn't matter if it is used or not.

It should handle Gaming and multiple rendering Programms

not hugely, just that the 6700k has higher clocks which games like more than more cores

You can get the Intel Core i7-6700 for around $300-$330. It's one of the best locked quad-core processors you can get and should perform well in games and CPU-heavy tasks.

 

You can get the Intel Core i7-6700K for around $330-$350. This is currently the best mainstream processor that money can buy, being unlocked and clocked at 4.0 GHz, which the Intel Core i7-6700 can only turbo boost to. You'll want a Z170 motherboard if you want to overclock it even higher.

 

You could get the Intel Core 5820K for $350-$370, though an X99 motherboard is considerably more expensive than Z170.

Not much, if any. Some games will perform very slightly worse on the Intel Core i7-5820K due to the lower clock speed and slightly older architecture. However, you can overclock it, and it has six cores, both making it a pretty future-proof CPU.
