Should I format?

Got a brand new build here.  Other than a Samsung 850 Evo 500GB SSD, every other drive I'm using is borrowed from previous computers.   I just got another HDD 5400 green installed today.  This one is different in that it was never mine so I really dont care about any of the stuff on it.  Should I format it?   or just clear everything off of it?  Little new to this.

drive wipe it. hope nothing migrated from it that could destroy your system.

Windows Explorer > This PC > Drive you want to format > Drive Tools > Format

My OS is 100% definitely on my SSD and this computer has been built for about 4 days now.  Just hooked this new drive up today.  Is this warning any kind of problem? 

 

This is the active partition on this disk.  All data on this partition will be lost. Are you sure you want to format this partition?

That just means it's the partition that the computer reads off of. Go ahead and format it.

I said wipe drive not reformat.

OP, you're talking about the 5400 right?
