Maybe get an ssd and upgrade your graphics card.

GPU then CPU (preferably to an i5 which would require a new mobo and maybe ram because AMD's current AM3+ CPUs aren't very good) then SSD.

What 550w PSU do you have by the way?

i like linux

Nah, AM3+ with a decent 4.5Ghz OC isn't TOO bad...still, Zen might be out by the time he acquire the funds for a GPU and CPU upgrade so...doesn't have to be an i5 ;)

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

I would get a SSD or GPU first, wait for AMD's Zen CPUs to come out and plan a CPU upgrade. Also OC that CPU while you don't upgrade it to avoid CPU bottleneck with the new GPU.

CPU: R7 5700X3DMotherboard: ASRock B550M-ITX A/C | Cooling: Deepcool AG400 Digital w/ Corsair ML120 Elite + 1 ML120 Elite exhaust + 2 ML140 Elite intake

RAM: 2x16GB Netac DDR4 3200MT/s | GPU: Gainward RTX 3080 Phoenix (+212MHz / +1000MHz / -6% PL)

Storage: 2TB XPG S70 Blade, Seagate Barracuda 2TB, Samsung 850 Evo 250GB (caching the HD) PSU: MSI MAG A750GL

Monitor: 2x Pichau Cepheus Fuse 28" 4k 144Hz HDR | Keyboard: Corsair K100 optical-mechanical

Headphone/headset: Kuba Disco Pro/Gamer + Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro | OS: Windows 11 Home

Mouse: Logitech G502X + Ugreen Ergonomic MouseCase: Corsair Carbide 400C

i would oc it but wouldnt my gpu then bottleneck the cpu ?

and would my cpu cooler be good enough to keep it at a good temp ?

CPU bottleneck is the worse, I can tell you by experience, GPU bottleneck is just normal, that's the way it's meant to be.

Use MSI Afterburner to see how much CPU your games are using, if it's less than 80%, don't bother with OC, but if you upgrade your video card and get 80%+ CPU usage, then you try some mild OC and check temps to see if it won't burn down your house lol.
