Encryption - SHA-512 VS SHA-256

Just wondering which hash algorithm is better and why, using the advanced encryption standard (AES).

So... higher bit amount means more secure?

Yes. It Refers to the length of the used key hash in bits. Longer key -> more possible combinations -> better / more secure encryption

Ahhhhh that makes sense then

 

You should be able to mix AES and 512 bit though right? From what I'm looking at it only looks like 256 for the highest amount

I believe AES is currently maxed out at 256.

Hmmmm.... kind of strange how I got the option to have it stored in that amount then under AES....... wtf
