So I'm looking at getting a new CPU/mobo/RAM and throwing the remainder of my old components (GPU/PSU) into a new case and taking my old components and throwing them into a new case for a streaming computer. That way the CPU isn't being hogged by streaming while I'm trying to game or vice versa. Should I go with the 6700, 6700K, or 4790K for the gaming rig and any mobo advice to pair with? 4790K gets better scores from what I've seen as far as performance goes but is an extra $40, is the extra cash worth it?

Buy the 6700K and the AsRock Z170 Extreme4.... And FYI, the 4790K is worse...

Btw, the 6700K doesn't come with a cooler, so you should buy an aftermarket one as well...

It also includes the 4790K in the results as well...shows it beating the 6700 and 6700K.

Please don't use CPUBoss... It SUCKS!

Haha understood, just clicked on the first link Google provided me figured forums would know and get me an answer quicker than unguided research. Haven't built a PC since my first one almost 3 years ago now. I'm not really planning on overclocking is the K series still worth the extra cash at that point?

If you don't want to overclock, you are better off with an i7 6700 and an H170 Motherboard.... You save some cash and don't lose much (just a few Mhz)

Gigabyte still a good buy for motherboards or should I go Asus? Currently running an Asus with no complaints but again, if I can shave $50 on my cpu and then some more cash off the mobo that'd be nice. College student and such.

All are fine.... You can't go wrong with the 4 major mobo manufacturers...

ASUS, Gigabyte, AsRock and MSI...
