Graphics Card Upgrade Question

I am looking to upgrade my prebuilt Dell XPS 8700 PC and will upgrade it from a GT720 to a GTX960/GTX970/GTX980/RX460/RX470/RX480. It currently has Dell 0KWVT8 motherboard and I believe a 450W PSU. Will this be enough for the graphics cards or will I need to upgrade? 

 

Also, which of these graphics cards is the best for mainly simulation games with a couple of AAA titles?

Does the PSU have PCIe connectors? If it does, the 1060 would be the better match if going for the 6GB at 1080@60.

If it does not, I'd get a new 500-600W PSU and wait until you can get a 1060 6GB.

I'm definitely going to go for the ASUS GTX 1060 6GB Turbo but the question still remains as to whether the motherboard and PSU will be capable of the card. Does anybody know whether they are able to work or will I need to upgrade those as well?

PSU shouldn't be a problem but make sure it has the PCIe power cables.

You can use the 4-pin molex connectors in a pinch if you have two of them. Graphics cards often come with an adapter for such an occasion.

As long as it is using PCIe (PCI Express) 2.0 or higher it should be okay.

So it doesn't have to be a PCIe x16 motherboard right? Cause the one I have is a PCIe x8 one I'm pretty sure

Modern GPU's are barely saturating 3.0 x8 and PCIe 4.0 is coming out...
