So i recently built a new PC, and I did a bit a research before I built it. Now that I built it and have used it for a few months I've noticed other reviews on other parts I could have bought. I am a novice builder, i was wondering if i could get some input on my build, weather or not the parts were a good choice, and what you would have done differently. here is my parts list:

CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 16GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200)

MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti GAMING 6G

Intel Core i7-4790K Devil's Canyon Quad-Core 4.0 GHz

MSI MSI Gaming Z97 GAMING 5 LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2.5" 500GB SATA III 3-D Vertical Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-75E500B/AM

EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G2 220-G2-0650-Y1 80+ GOLD

A 650 may not be enough. I recommend the 750 refurbished G2, it costs only a little more

well my 650 was recommended so i got it and it works fine i runs everything but i planned on SLI another so i will end up getting a bigger Power supply

It should certainly be enough! 650W for a single GPU setup with an 80Plus Gold rating is more than enough, even for the power-hungry 4790K. But if OP plans to go with SLI anyways, this question is irrelevant, so nvm.

(I'm getting invited to a lot more parties since then, by the way)

Honestly, the 750 g2 is way better, even refurbished

I'd say you've done a pretty good job considering part choice. It always depends on personal preferences and requirements considering motherboard inputs and features. But I think you are at a pretty good baseline. If I were you, I would wait with going SLI though until you can pick up a deal on a new or used GTX 980TI (best case scenario would be the same one as you have). I don't know if you would have really required a 4790K considering you are probably using your PC mainly for gaming, but nvm. Just one question: Are you using the stock cooler? If yes, I'd advise you to buy a better one, you can run into idle temperatures of over 40°C with the stock one, so better go with a Hyper 212 EVO or something similar (water-cooling would be ideal, you could squeeze out up to 15% more performance out of your CPU)

I also don't know if you really require 500GB of SSD space since you probably have an additional, larger drive anyways. But that wraps it up for me pretty much. Well done, isn't it a nice feeling to build his first PC? :D
