Hello guys!!! how are you doing? I need your help :/ I am building a new pc sincce the one I built on june died, yes, died!!! Iwas using a amd build with a 6300fx, a msi r9 380 4gb (oc), msi 970 "gaming" motherboard, a sm psu v650 cooler master, 8 gb of ddr3 ram 2x4gb cl 7 1600 mhz.

What happened is really sad and it basicaclly died in a blackout T-T. But of course I am not going to cry forever and I am currently looking for new hardware to make a nice intel build.

ps: some of the Hardware of my dead pc, actually survived, these are: HDD, ram, heatsink ( :V ), monitor and psu.

So I was thinking and this is what cought my attention so far:

- intel i5 6600k https://www.neweggbusiness.com/product/product.aspx?item=9b-19-117-561

- evga gtx 970 ftw

And here is where where my mind does not know what to do. I really need help with a m/b (I know I need a lga1151 m/b and that Z series work great with that 6600k cpu) since I do not have a great knowledge to decide wich fits better for the surviving hardware of my old pc and the new hardware I am willing to buy. Also it would be nice if you could help me out with a nice SSD option. All your thoughts are welcome ty people <3

I'm actually surprised that your PSU didn't die in the blackout with your Board and CPU. Usually it's the PSU that should be taking the brunt of a power surge if it's designed properly.

Hello!

I use an Asus Z170-A mobo and its great, I use it with a 6700K! I'm not too sure about the SSD since I'm looking for one myself. Let me know if you find anything.

You need a Z170 board if you're going to get a i5-6600K, otherwise you can't use it's overclocking capabilities. If you're not going to overclock, don't bother with a K series CPU. You will need to invest in some DDR4 memory, since DDR3 doesn't work with the current generation motherboards. I would get the 1060 instead of the 970. They cost about the same, but the 1060 will perform better. I also added in a basic SSD for you, you can use your old hard drive for other storage. If the heatsink is decent you can use that, but I would not use a PSU that has been through hell and back when your motherboard and what not died in the power blackout. I made a PCPartPicker list in USD, since I'm not sure where and how you buy parts in Chile.
