Hello!

An avid watcher of LinusTechTips videos, but a not-so-avid forum poster here :)

Just wondering if someone can correct me if I'm wrong? Basically, I found an EVGA GTX 960 on the cheap and it's really great! It's second hand but has oodles of warranty left and saved me £80 so I'm a happy bunny all round.

It has the same ACX 2.0+ cooler that its overclocked (and more expensive) brothers have, so I was wondering whether it's possible to overclock it to these exact frequencies really safely?

I've had no experience overclocking anything before as I've always found the performance:power consumption ratio to be spot on for me, so would appreciate any pointers you could give me! :D

Max oc frequency depends on the chip in your card, and varies from card to card. Its called the "silicone lottery" and you can never tell what max clocks the card can reach before trying to OC it.

Since nvidia locks down the voltage control a lot, there is pretty much nothing you can do that would harm the card without flashing a custom bios. Just keep an eye on temps, and oc away...
