Ok, so I live in New Zealand (for currency reference) and have recently decided to build my own gaming PC (exciting, I know).

The thing is, there is so much depth in desktop building that I'm not sure where to start...but you guys are ;). I shall now give my preferences:

  • Money: ~$1000 USD ($1500 NZD)
  • Should run recent games (2016) at good quality, but I'm not sure what $1500 can get me lol.
  • Doesn't need any fancy things like VR or 4/8K, because really, what's the point? (for me)
  • Needs to be reliable, and run for awhile (1/2 a decade at least?) - but then again I can always upgrade
  • One of my wishes as a child was to have a cool-looking desktop - so, not necessarily liquid cooling 'cool', but cool chassis and lighting 'cool' ;) (I like blue + white combo)
  • But really, speed is most important (sacrifices can be made) - obviously, as this is a gaming pc, I prefer a good graphics card.

Thanks to all in advance, I hope I'm not restricting you guys too much, feel free to send what you wish!
