when is it needed to replace air coolers?

i got an CM HAF 932 for 6 years now and never replaced the fans on all the pc. (i do keep it clean). 

how often is it necessary to replace them?

Honestly, fans are fine until they start dying. All fans have a rated hours until failure. Until they start making noise or stop spinning etc, no need to worry to much about it.

They start acting up? Slow down? Make weird noises? Then replace them, otherwise, just keep them clean.

Up to you. If you don't like noise, feel that they aren't performing, you don't like how they look etc. Or when they actually die.
