Wired internet problems.

Hi guys, 

I'm having a problem with my internet connection on my pc. 

My wifi to laptop, phones and so on always works, but my pc disconnects from the internet randomly. 

I have to reset the router for my pc to have working internet again, but after 30min or so it disconnects again. and i have to reset the router over and over. 

I've looked up a lot of stuff online with command prompt lines and so on. nothing seems to be working. 

Any ideas?

What's your router? It may not be good enough for the number of clients you have.

Hitron CGN3. There used to be 4 people living in my house, but 1 has moved away, so there are fewer devices than before. and i did not have these problems when he was living here. And my router page is showing its providing for 9 devices, my pc not included.

For an all-in-one, it seems pretty good. You can try updating firmware and making sure it isn't getting too hot.

The firmware on the router is upto date. but I'm having problems installing the driver update for my pc. the card is the Intel® Ethernet Connection I217-V. i downloaded the driver, moved it to the pc, ran it and installed. but the driver details still shows an out of date driver.

i got the pc drivers working as well. ill reset the router and see how it goes.

less than an hour later and the pc can't connect to the internet again. anyone got anything else i should try?

Only to try a different ethernet to the PC or use a different port on the router.

did not have a different pc but i tried connecting it to my xbox. it says it cannot connect to my DHCP server. does that help?

Sounds like a problem with that router or the signal coming from the ISP. You may need to call your service provider.

it was set to a 30 min lease time for the dhcp, whatever that means, i bumped it up to 2weeks. maybe that will help. i reset the router just in case as well. ill keep you update, thanks for your help, i really appreciate it

a day later and the same thing happens. wired connection doesn't work, but wireless does. anyone else have a solution  could try?
