Could probably stretch the RAM out to 32GB though

Hi guys,

I am thinking to upgrade my system as my current system cannot handle the work.

Current Specifications:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 running at stock speed @3.00 GHz

4 GB ram @800 MHz

Asus P5K-E/Wifi-AP Motherboard

Nvidia Geforce 8600 gt (512 mb, 128 bit)

There are two types of things i would like to do on my system

1. Office Work

Its usually video converting, video editing, making website, using Adobe CS6 Master Collection and using these software

1. Photoshop to edit huge pdf files some times over 1gb

2. Illustrator

3. Dreamweaver

4. Flashbuilder

2. Gaming

When it comes to Gaming I play games like

1.  FIFA 16 & 17

2. Counter Strike Global Offensive

3. Dota 2

4. GTA 5

I will like to record each and every game at ultra settings at 1920 x 1080

I am a bit confused what processor and ram should i have. Should I go for an Intel processor or an AMD one. Can you guys please specify the specific model of the cpu and how much ram should I have, more than that at what speed it should me running at. Should it be DDR3 or DDR4.

My Budget is $2000 with GPU

Thanks in Advance

Personally I'd push for the i7, especially for the video encoding / video editting. You'll love those extra cores + threads.

On the gaming side of things, you'll hardly see a difference as games really aren't that multithreaded at all on the CPU side of things.

I wouldn't run a HD for storage. I'd raid a couple of bigger SSD's instead. platter drives suck when you need to load/find a lot and you're in a hurry. especially with textures/jps, etc. nice to have the data right in front of you in real time vs waiting for it to "pop" up as you scroll through it.

i'd also look at Linus' most recent vid on cpu's.

I also wouldn't run a 60Hz monitor anymore.
