Hi,

I am Currently running 2x Samsung Evo 850 Raid 0 Setup but getting low space on my driver i want to up my speed and space.

Which one is better get 1 more driver and make a 3 ssd 750gb raid 0 ?

or get 2 more and make a 4 ssd 1tb raid 0 ?

Storage wise 4 ssd is gonna be better but will the read - write speeds be better for 3 drive or 4 ?

Chipset of mobo is z97.

I would strongly advise against both options. You're significantly increasing your chances of losing data and the speed increases from 2 to 3 or 4 will be minimal and unnoticeable in most situations.

I would advise just adding another 500GB SSD and keep it separate from the other drives.

Raid 5 is good. But remember that you will lose EVERYTHING on the drive when you change the raid type.

Thas no problem have 2x 3tb back up hdds - i always build from clean install no problem to install games and stuff.

how about getting 4 drives in raid 5 setup as 750gb ?

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES RUN RAID 5 ON YOUR OS DRIVE.

With that out of the way, I recently posted in another thread, comparing prices of the different SSD sizes.

Why not simply pick up a single 1TB Samsung 850 EVO (or a competitors equivalent)? Those cost ~$308 USD right now.

Then keep your original 250GB SSD's for other purposes, or sell them.

For Sale: Meraki Bundle

iPhone Xr 128 GB Product Red - HP Spectre x360 13" (i5 - 8 GB RAM - 256 GB SSD) - HP ZBook 15v G5 15" (i7-8850H - 16 GB RAM - 512 GB SSD - NVIDIA Quadro P600)

I already have 2 ssd in raid 0 -

We have a lot of servers running raid 5 with sas drives as os and app drives.

instead of getting one 500mb/s read write 1tb drive - I can easily get 2 more 250gb hdds and have better write read speads and same available space running raid 0 - also will have 2 purple wd 3tb drives in raid 1 backing up my pc and archive too.

I never keep important data on raid 0 drives and doing weekly backups.

I know due to no ram and hardware raid setup raid 5 may get worse performance than raid 0 but i guess z97 can handle raid 5 or not ? otherwise raid 0 with 4drive can get me over 1800MB reads writes hoping ..
