So I don't have access to my computer for the next 3-4 weeks, and usually I wouldn't really care, but I just got into a 5 man ranked rainbow six team. I am worried that if I can't play for the next month, I will be kicked from the team. My best solution that I can think of is to play from my laptop. Unfortunately, that laptop is definitely not a gaming laptop. It has an nvidia gt 630m gpu, a dual core i7 3537u, and 8gb of ram. I tried to configure rainbow six to maximize performance, and I can get like 20-30 fps out of it (playable imo) but the only issue is the input lag. There is massive amounts of input lag that makes it unplayable. Is there any more settings I can change to make it run faster and with less input lag? Thx.

Wouldn't that sort of input lag be caused by the network connection?

If there's no keyboard delay when typing in Notepad or moving the mouse cursor around the Windows desktop (with no games open) I'd say it's isolated to the network (LAN or WAN).

I doubt that its network related. I have better wifi on my laptop then I do on my desktop, and I have never had this issue with my desktop.

have you verified that the game is running on the dedicated gpu and not the integrated intel graphics? turn v-sync on/off?

Vsync is off, I am not sure if it's running on dedicated gpu, in the game settings it actually has a meter that shows gpu info and it's showing the info for the integrated graphics, but I have the dedicated gpu selected in the nvidia control panel for rainbow 6.

well i say this because when some games launch on the integrated gpu instead of the dedicated on my laptop i get tons of input lag. Could be what's happening to you. If you have geforce experience (might be nvidia control panel? it's one of those two) and look in the taskbar, you can hover over the little icon and it will tell you what games are running in the 630m.
