just finished building my new comp 

 

just got a few questioons 

 

first the easy one my ram says

16.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1067MHz (14-14-14-35)

 

i got it plugged in the 1 and 2 slots 

i got these ram sticks shouldnt they default to a higher clock ?

also im gonna try overclocking my 6700k never done cpu cover clocking can i just use xtu ? im looking to get a 4.5 ghz oc running a h105 cooler 

 

much appreciated now gotta decide if i wanna get 2 1080s or wait till the 1080 ti and get 2 of those :)

DDR = Double Data Rate. Multiply that 1066.6 you see by 2 and you get... OH, 2133. Your RAM is running at what it's supposed to.

We always recommend OCing through the Bios and Bios alone.

Wrong train of thought. You should think of it "allright, let's see what I can get out of this chip" rather than "I want X oc". That way, you won't get disappointed when your chip fails to reach 4.5, while also getting super happy once it reaches higher than that.

Most likely, there will not be a 1080ti. That's just a guess, and Nvidia could completely surprise use out of nowhere (Titan XP?), but we're inclined to believe that 1080ti is not coming, or at the very least it's still ways away and it's not worth waiting.

realised my bios has auto setting set to 4.5 and not even hittign 60c under full load :D comp is quiet to :D

yeah im fine with waiting and the other issue is theres none of the 1080s im after available near me :(
