yep, this all works fine. you won't be able to overclock your 6600K on that H170 motherboard though, you need the Z170 version for that!

If you're getting an i5 6600k, pair it with a z170 board as you won't be able to oc with the other chipsets. If you're not going to oc get an i5 6500 instead. Also, go to flipkart and get a seasonic s12ii instead, the cx600 isn't very good.

If you don't want to overclock your i5 get a i5 6600/i5 6500/i5 6400 to save up. You can't overclock a processor in a h170 board.

Also find a better power supply if you can afford it (500W is more than enough for a build like this, so cut the wattage and get a better overall unit):

Bump.

Can someone pls help me out, I am a newbie.

spend more money, go to flipkart and get one of their seasonic 500w and above psus. you don't wanna overclock with that corsair vs550(quality isn't good). otherwise it seems fine.

I would rather stick to corsair as it has better rating and more reviews than supersonic. Do I need more 550w to overclock?

Also, how much performance boost do I get with oc?

Is it worth it?

Seasonic is known for having excellent quality in ALL of their power supplies. Corsair's green CX, VS and CS are sub-par for a gaming pc like yours. @STRMfrmXMN psu tier list will show that any seasonic is far better overall compared to the corsair CX600.

How much performance boost do I get when I overclock my CPU and does it void my warranty?

I buying the seasonic.

It depends on how much you overclock. If you're super unlucky like me and your Core i5 4670k won't run past 3.9 GHz then you'll only get a little bit of a performance boost (from 3.4 GHz to 3.9 GHz, a 7 percent overclock or something like that) but most people can see at least a 15% improvement in CPU performance from overclocking and a little less than that by overclocking their GPU.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't void the warranty, but I've never known someone return an Intel because it broke so you might be alright regardless :P
