what is the best low profile cpu for the fractal node 202?

planned mb is the asrockfatality z170 itx and the case is the node 202

 

although no overclocking will take place, i'd like to know what would fit and provide the best temperatures.

I'll assume you meant 'CPU cooler' instead of CPU.

 

If you're not overclocking, a cheap but decent option such as the CRYORIG C7 will do the job fine.

well all the cpus for that socket are as low profile as it gets: ~5mm (which is less than amd cpus because PINSSS)

but joke aside:

the only coolers I know are the noctua L9i and the cryorig C7, but AFAIK the cryorig is the better one

Looking at both the C7 and the L9i suggested above, it doesn't get much better, if at all, in this form factor, so I'd just get the cheaper C7. Regardless of which one you choose, your CPU will need as good of ventilation as it can get, so take care when building.
