How fixable is this iPhone 5?

Gday folks!

My friend recently gave his smashed iPhone 5 to me for free which is a slight upgrade from my current iPhone 4. When I say smashed, I really mean smashed. The top half of the phone is cracked with peeling bits of glass and a loose camera. Pictures bellow. Any chance of this phone surviving and how much would it cost to repair?

Depends on how busted the internals are.

If it's just the screen, then it should be quite fixable. If the damage extends to whatever components are exposed, it might not even be worth bothering

He told me it all works but I really have no say on how phones work. I might just take it to a phone store and get them to check it out.

Not sure if it's worth fixing this.

You would need to replace screen and touch ... just that alone cost more than phone is even worth
