Router Suggestions?

Hey All,

Unfortunately my router died on me during a storm last night and I'm looking to purchase a new one. Any suggestions? As far as budget is involved I suppose $100 is ideal. What are you guys rocking?

just for a starter, if router-killing storms happen a lot in your area, consider getting a decent UPS for your hardware.

 

beyond that, what are your requirements?

- does it need wireless?

- does it specificly not need wireless?

- does it need any specific feaures like VPN, usb port for network storage or printer, etc?

- is gigabit a necessity? (if its just for accessing the facebook over your potato internet connection, you could be set for a tenner.)

- etc.

Yes it needs wireless. I have two desktops in my household and connect one of them to the router. It should be able to handle 3-4 mobile devices at once. Maybe a little video streaming in the background. I'm quite the casual gamer and my internet speed is quite decent. Hope this helps. If you need anymore specific details let me know!
